While Michael has had experience in corporate, educational, and ecclesiastical architecture, the primary focus of his career has been high-end residential design and historic preservation. Michael has been privileged to work for several nationally recognized firms that specialize in residential architecture, such as Historical Concepts (Atlanta, GA), Kirchhoff & Associates (Jupiter, FL), and Wade Weissmann Architecture (Santa Barbara, CA & Milwaukee, WI). He has worked on various residential projects across the country in communities such as Buckhead, Palm Beach, Highland Park, and Montecito, as well as many locations in the South, including Celebration, the Balsam Mountain Preserve, Spring Island, and the Ford Field and River Club. Several of Michael’s projects have received local and national awards, including two Palladio Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Traditional Design, and have been featured in publications such as New Old House and Period Homes. He has also had the opportunity to design two homes for ABC’s Extreme Makeover television program and to work with respected interior designers such as Mario Buatta, Bunny Williams, and Cullman & Kravis. Michael is a member of Historic New England (formerly the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities) and enjoys photographing and documenting historic homes.
