Wake Forest University (BA Econ & Studio Art), University of Florida (M-Arch)
J.T. LaVia is finally returning to the South after spending the last several years gaining experience across the country. Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, he is glad to be back in the coastal climate and closer to family. J.T. earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Studio Art from Wake Forest University before completing his Master of Architecture at the University of Florida.
His professional experience spans Gainesville, Florida; Seattle, Washington; and Alexandria, Virginia, where he contributed to both high-end residential and commercial projects. This range of work has allowed J.T. to appreciate working on a variety of sites, scales, and project types.
Outside of the office, JT enjoys exploring the natural landscape on foot, by bike, or by boat. JT is a lifelong fisherman and has spent most of his time on the shallow flats of Florida’s Forgotten Coast. He is excited to find new trails and fishing spots as he continues to explore the Lowcountry.
