BIM Manager
The BIM Manager plays a strategic and hands-on role in ensuring the firm’s BIM standards, workflows, and technologies are fully integrated into the design and delivery process. This position works closely with studio teams, consultants, and leadership to ensure models are accurate, coordinated, and optimized from concept through construction documentation.
BIM Leadership and Strategy
• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, templates, and best practices across residential and commercial project types.
• Evaluate and recommend BIM technology and tools to enhance project efficiency and design quality.
• Lead BIM execution planning for new projects and ensure alignment with client and consultant requirements.
• Stay current on the latest BIM technologies, standards and best practices.
Project Support and Coordination
• Provide day-to-day support to studio teams, including model setup, troubleshooting, and QA/QC.
• Enforce BIM standards and protocols for data management, file naming, and other project-related aspects.
• Manage project information models, templates, and content catalog, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across different teams.
Training and Mentorship
• Conduct onboarding, training sessions, and one-on-one mentoring for staff to improve BIM skills and adherence to standards.
• Serve as a resource for BIM-related questions and foster a culture of innovation and digital design excellence.
Collaboration and Communication
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth BIM collaboration and data exchange.
Administrative
• Manage BIM software licenses, configurations, and updates.
• Manage other related company software licenses and troubleshoot other software-related issues.
• Serve as the main point of contact and liaison with the Company’s IT consultant and phone/internet service providers.
Skills and Abilities Required
• Expert knowledge of Autodesk products and Bluebeam Revu software is required.
• Experience managing BIM workflows in both high-end residential and commercial architectural projects.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Education and Experience Required
• Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least five years of experience in an architectural firm, with at least three years in a BIM management role.
