Barge Landing Residence

Finding inspiration in the log homes of the owners’ youth and the stick and shingle style of family camps popular throughout the northeast, Court Atkins Group crafted a cabin retreat intimate enough for a weekend respite but versatile enough to host regular extended family gatherings. Sited amidst heavy woods with water trail views beyond, the home is designed with a strong connection to the outdoors. An open, transitional floor plan spans the home with walkways, porches, and gathering spaces reminiscent of rambling river camps. Vaulted ceilings and dormer windows allow plenty of natural light, and interior millwork, layered finishes, and a variety of textures contribute to the rustic lodge environment. Larger-scale spaces, such as the main living area and primary bedroom, are equipped with soaring ceiling heights and plenty of natural light, while rooms on the second floor have a treehouse feel, set amidst the dense tree canopy.
