Located along the main thoroughfare in Old Town Bluffton, this redeveloped site has added new vibrancy and modern Lowcountry architecture to this small southern town. The original building was a tired prefabricated metal building that was rapidly deteriorating. With a clear vision, collaboration, and creativity, the Court Atkins team retooled the entire façade along May River Road. In addition, a new building was added to the development to define the prominent downtown corner.
The material palette included whitewashed brick, painted siding and panel details, and inset Shou Sugi Ban siding accents. The unique combination of materials revitalizes the traditional Lowcountry elements into a refreshed modern aesthetic.
