For the team on this Lowcountry-meets-modern residence, it was important to design a home that wouldn’t look out of place from the outside, but from the inside, was very contemporary and pushed the envelope in a multitude of ways. The home had to be comfortable but serviceable for entertaining, with a mix of large entertaining areas and cozy spaces for children to play.
For the interiors team, the client’s love of green became the genesis of the selection process, beginning with the blue tides marble stone in the kitchen. Walnut is another central theme, most notably in the all-walnut kitchen, the entry wall, the staircase, and the primary bedroom. To keep the contemporary pieces grounded, French oak in a whitewash was used throughout the home. The result is a light, bright feeling that underscores the minimal and clean lines but manages not to be impersonal and cold.
